SPICED MOLASSES COOKIES 
3 1/2 c. sifted enriched flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 c. shortening
1 c. sorghum molasses
1/2 c. buttermilk or sour milk
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. sugar
2 eggs

Sift together the dry ingredients. Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add molasses and eggs, beat well. Add dry mix alternately with buttermilk, mix until smooth. Chill dough. Roll out, cut or drop cookie size. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet.
