BUTTER SANDWICH COOKIE 
1 lb. butter
3 oz. cream cheese
5 oz. Crisco
6 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 lg. or 2 sm. eggs

Mix butter, Crisco and cream cheese with sugar until creamy. Add egg and vanilla and blend in. Add flour and mix well together. Form into 4 to 6 logs and wrap in wax paper. Put into freezer overnight (store in freezer). Slice thin and bake on ungreased cookie sheet 8 to 10 minutes at 375 degrees. Immediately remove from cookie sheet, cool and spread jelly or jam on cookie and top with another. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
