STUFFED MAPLE BAKED PEARS | |
6 firm pears 1/4 c. raisins 1/3 c. chopped walnuts or pecans 4 tbsp. sugar free maple syrup 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 c. hot water Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Core pears within 1/4 inch of the bottom. Combine raisins, nuts, 2 tablespoons maple syrup and cinnamon in a small bowl. Divide among pears pushing filling into cavities with a spoon handle. Place in a shallow baking dish just large enough to hold pears without crowding. Pour remaining 2 tablespoons maple syrup over pears. Pour hot water into bottom of baking dish, cover with foil and bake 40 minutes or until pears are tender when pierced with a fork. Baste pears several times during baking. Apples may be substituted. Try serving with heavy cream. |
