BAKED BEANS | |
2 lbs. dry beans 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 c. molasses 1/2 c. granulated sugar 1 tsp. salt Soak beans overnight; drain. Cover with water and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda and boil for approximately 25-30 minutes. Drain and place in baking dish. Add molasses, sugar, and salt and enough water to cover. Bake about 4 hours. Variation: 1/2 cup maple syrup, 1/2 cup brown sugar in place of molasses and granulated sugar. |
