STREUSEL APPLE PIE 
1 (9 inch) pie shell, unbaked

FILLING:

1/2 c. sugar
3 tbsp. flour
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
6 c. apples, sliced

STREUSEL TOPPING:

1 c. quick or old fashioned oatmeal
1/3 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/3 c. pecans, finely chopped
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 c. butter, melted

Heat oven to 400 degrees.

FOR FILLING: Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Toss apples in sugar mixture; pour into unbaked pie shell.

FOR TOPPING: Combine oatmeal, brown sugar, pecans, cinnamon and butter. Sprinkle over filling. Bake in preheated oven at 400 degrees about 40 minutes or until topping is brown and apples are tender.
