APPLE NUT COFFEE CAKE 
3 med. Golden Delicious apples
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. butter, softened
1 (16 oz.) container sour cream
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla extract
4 lg. eggs

STREUSEL TOPPING:

1 c. chopped walnuts
2/3 c. flour
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
4 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. cinnamon

Prepare Streusel Topping by kneading into large pieces; set aside.

Peel, core and thinly slice apples. In bowl, toss apples with 2 tablespoons sugar. Grease 10x14 inch roasting pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In large bowl with mixer at medium speed, beat butter with 1 1/2 cups sugar until light and fluffy. Add sour cream and remaining ingredients. Beat at low speed until blended, scraping bowl. Spread batter in pan. Arrange apple slices on top and sprinkle with Streusel Topping.
