FLOUR TORTILLAS | |
2 c. all-purpose flour 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tbsp. lard or shortening 3/4 c. warm water Mix flour, salt and baking powder. Cut in lard until mixture resembles corn meal. Add 3/4 cup water a little at a time while mixing, until dough can be gathered into a ball. Let dough sit for 5 minutes. Divide dough into small balls about 12. Roll out each ball into a 7 inch round. Cook tortillas on an ungreased skillet or grill over medium to high heat, lightly browned on each side. |
