FRESH APPLE CAKE | |
2 c. sugar 1/2 c. butter or shortening 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 c. pecans 2 c. sifted flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 2 eggs 4 grated apples Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Add flour mixed with baking powder, soda and salt. Fold in apples and pecans; spoon into bundt pan. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. CARAMEL FROSTING: 1/2 c. butter 1 c. light brown sugar 2 c. powdered sugar 1/4 c. evaporated milk 1 tsp. vanilla Mix butter, milk and sugar by hand. Cook over direct heat or microwave until bubbling. Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Mix well. Pour over cooled cake. |
