LEMON NUT COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, separated
2 tsp. vanilla
4 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
4 tsp. grated lemon peel
4 tsp. grated orange peel
2 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 c. finely chopped walnuts

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks, vanilla, lemon juice, and grated peels; beat. Add flour and mix well. Chill dough 1 hour. Dip a teaspoon of dough into slightly beaten egg whites, then into nuts. Place nut side up, 2 inches apart on a lightly-oiled cookies sheet. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned. Transfer to cooling rack immediately. Makes 4 dozen.
