OATMEAL RAISIN COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. raisins, cover with water and cook, set aside
1 c. shortening (all Crisco)
1 1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
6 tbsp. liquid juice from the cooked raisins
1 c. nuts
3 eggs, beaten
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. allspice
2 c. quick oatmeal

Cream shortening and sugars. Add eggs, juice, and spices. Add dry ingredients and raisins. Drop with teaspoon on cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees.
