EYE OF ROUND 
Eye of round
Seasoned salt
Garlic salt
Black pepper
Soy sauce
1 tbsp. shortening

Two nights before, rub entire surface of meat liberally with mixture of the seasonings. Wrap tightly in aluminum foil and refrigerate.

Second night, add 2 teaspoons soy sauce to meat. Re-wrap and refrigerate.

About 1 hour before cooking, remove from refrigerator to attain room temperature. Brown on all sides in shortening. Place meat in shallow pan. Bake at 300 degrees until desired doneness. 15 minutes per pound for rare; 20 minutes for medium; 22 minutes per pound for well done.

Remove from oven, cover roasting pan tightly with foil and let stand for 30 minutes or more. Meat will continue cooking for a while.
