2 c. wholewheat pastry flour
1 c. honey
3 eggs
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. oil
1 c. applesauce
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice

Beat eggs with honey. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Bake in 11x13x2 oiled glass baking dish for one hour at 350 degrees. This cake is delicious plain or with honey, butter frosting.

FROSTING:

1 egg yolk
1/2 lb. soft butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. honey

Beat egg yolks with butter, mix in vanilla and honey (enough honey for desired taste and consistency).
