APPLESAUCE MUFFINS 
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. applesauce (unsweetened)
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. nuts, chopped

Cream the butter and sugar. Add the egg. Stir in the applesauce and spices. Sift together the salt, baking soda and flour. Add to the applesauce mixture and heat well. Stir in the nuts. Fill greased muffin tins 2/3 full and bake for 8 to 10 minutes. The batter keeps well in a refrigerator and baked muffins freeze well (reheat before serving). Makes 24 muffins.
