"MOM'S" RICE PUDDING" 
1 c. rice (not instant)
3 to 4 c. boiling water
1/2 tsp. salt
Raisins (optional)
1 egg, beaten
1 c. evaporated milk
1 c. sugar

Combine first 4 ingredients. Put on stove in saucepan and bring to boil, the simmer until rice is tender (not sticky), most of water should be gone, approximately 30 minutes.

Prepare last 3 ingredients while rice cooking.

Beat egg, add sugar and milk and mix well.

When rice is tender add egg mixture and simmer about 10 minutes, stirring slowly.
