BUTTERHORNS 
1 c. milk, scalded
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 pkg. fresh yeast
3 beaten eggs
4 1/2 c. flour

Combine milk, shortening, sugar, and salt; cool to lukewarm. Add yeast and stir well. Add eggs, then flour and mix to soft dough. Knead lightly on floured surface.

Place in greased bowl and let rise until doubled in bulk. Work down; roll out and cut crosswise like a pie. Butter surface and roll up each piece. Let rise again and bake in 400-425 degree oven about 15 minutes.
