AUNT DORA'S HOMEMADE ROLLS 
2 pkgs. dry yeast
1/2 c. lukewarm water

Dissolve yeast in water. Stir to dissolve. Set aside. 3/4 c. shortening

Add shortening to boiling water until dissolved. Set aside. 1 tsp. salt 3/4 c. sugar 1 c. cold water

In a large glass bowl, beat eggs. Add salt and sugar. Beat well. Add cold water. Add shortening and water mixture. Beat in 8 cups plain flour. Beat by hand until well blended. Cover with damp towel. Keep in refrigerator overnight. Divide dough in half. Work with half the dough at a time. Roll out and cut with biscuit cutter. Melt some butter. Fold roll over with spoon and put in some butter. Place on greased cookie sheet. Cover with dry towel and let rise for 2 hours.

Bake for 15 minutes at 400 degrees. Half of the dough makes about 24 rolls. This dough can be kept in the refrigerator for approximately one week. Be sure to keep a damp cloth over it to keep it from drying out.
