2 c. butter
3 c. buttermilk
1 c. blackberry jam
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. ginger
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. pecans or walnuts
3 c. brown sugar
1 c. raisins
2 tsp. allspice
2 tsp. cloves
4 eggs
5 c. flour

Cream butter and sugar, add eggs. Add soda to buttermilk. Combine flour and spices. Alternately add the sugar mixture and the buttermilk mixture to the flour. Mix well. Add jam and mix well. Add raisins and nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
