VINEGAR CAKE 
4 eggs
1 c. sugar
1 c. cake flour, sifted
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla

Separate eggs, beat whites stiff, add sugar then well beaten egg yolks and vinegar. Fold in flour and vanilla. (Add vinegar to egg yolks and beat together.) Bake in loaf pan 35 minutes at 350 degrees.

An old fashioned favourite....was halfway through and realized I didn't have eggs, so added a big spoonful of peanut butter and a cup of water instead. The batter tastes amazing - almost like a lemon-lime soda. Cake very moist and delicious with butter. Will bake again.
