BEAN SOUP 
2 lb. ham, diced
3 cans green beans
1 med. onion
6 carrots, diced
4 lg. potatoes
4 lg. bay leaves
1 tsp. summer savor (or to your taste)
1 tsp. parsley
1/2 c. cream

Put in kettle; diced ham, beans, onion and bay leaves. Summer savor and parsley can be put in a clean piece of cloth; tie it. Remove this after cooking. Cook for 1 hour. Cook carrots until half done. Add potatoes and finish cooking. Add carrots and potatoes to kettle. Add cream just before serving. Sour cream and sweet cream may be used.
