6 cucumbers 1 onion, med. (sliced) 1/2 tsp. celery seed 1/2 tsp. dill seed Chunk alum (pea size) Slice cucumbers at an angle. Place 1 onion slice at bottom of quart jar. Add cucumbers, then 1 onion slice on top. Add all other ingredients, then: 1 qt. vinegar 1/2 c. salt 1 pt. water Bring these ingredients to a boil and add quickly to pickles to seal. |
