GINGERBREAD MEN | |
1 c. butter 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. dark molasses 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. nutmeg 1 tsp. cloves 1 tsp. ginger 2 eggs 1 tsp. vinegar 5 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda Raisins & cinnamon candies Makes 3 dozen. In saucepan cream butter and sugar. Add molasses and spices. Mix well. Bring to boil, constantly stirring. Remove from heat and cool. Stir in well-beaten eggs and vinegar. Sift flour and baking soda and stir into molasses mixture to form a smooth dough. Chill several hours. Divide dough into 6 portions. Roll out on aluminum foil. Cut with gingerbread man cutter. Remove excess dough. Garnish with raisins for eyes and buttons and cinnamon candies for mouth. |
