BLACKBERRY COBBLER 
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
3/4 c. water
6 c. blackberries, washed
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. flour
1 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
4 tbsp. shortening
Generous 1/2 c. sour cream

Combine sugar, cornstarch, and water. Stir into berries. Pour into ungreased shallow 9 x 11 baking dish. Dot with butter. Bake 20 minutes at 400 degrees.

Meanwhile, combine flour, sugar, and powder. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Mix in sour cream. Drop dough by spoonfuls onto hot berries.

Bake additional 30 minutes at 400 degrees. Serve warm in bowls with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
