BLACKBERRY COBBLER 
2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 1/2 c. water
6 c. blackberries
1 tbsp. butter

SHORTCAKE DOUGH:

2 c. sifted flour
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 scant tsp. salt
6 tbsp. butter
1 c. milk

Mix sugar and cornstarch in saucepan. Add small amount water to combine ingredients. Add remaining water. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Boil one minute. Add butter. Place berries in 10x15 pan. Pour syrup over and top with dough.

For dough sift dry ingredients, cut in butter until fine. Stir in milk. Drop by large spoonfuls on berries. Bake in 400 degree oven 30 minutes until done. Serve warm.
