3/4 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. flavoring (lemon or vanilla)
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt

Mix butter, sugar, eggs, and flavoring well. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt and stir in. Chill at least 1 hour or overnight. Roll 1/8 inch thick on lightly floured board. Keep rest of dough chilled. Cut in desired shapes. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 6-8 minutes, or until set but not brown. Decorate as desired. Keep well in freezer.
