CHAMPAGNE PUNCH 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. lemon juice
2 c. pineapple chunks, drained
3/4 qt. ice water
1 pt. fresh or frozen strawberries
1 bottle champagne
1/2 bottle sauterne

Have fruit and wines well chilled. Dissolve sugar in lemon juice. Pour into a punch bowl; add the pineapples and a molded block of ice. Stir in chilled sauterne and ice water. Add champagne and strawberries just before serving. Yield: serves 20.
