MELT - IN - YOUR - MOUTH
MERINGUES
 
4 egg whites, room temperature
1 1/3 c. sugar
2 tsp. cornstarch
2 tsp. vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. (Important.) Beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Mix together the sugar and cornstarch. Add to whites 3 tablespoons at a time. Beat well after each addition. After third addition, add vinegar. Before last sugar addition, add vanilla. Form into meringues on well greased cookie sheet. Or can be put on 10 inch pie plate pushing tightly up against sides. For individual meringues, put a scoop of batter on cookie sheet and push hole in center to form a cup. Put in oven and turn the oven off. Leave for 3 hours. Fill with fruit or pudding.
