POPPY SEED CAKE | |
1 box Duncan Hines yellow cake mix 1 box (sm.) Jello instant vanilla pudding (dry) 1 c. CRISCO oil 4 eggs 1 c. water 1/4 c. poppy seeds Blend cake mix, pudding and oil in electric mixer. Add eggs (one at a time, slightly beaten). Then add water and poppy seeds. Blend well. Pour into bundt pan (greased and floured). Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 300 degrees and bake approximately 40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. I place a shallow pan of water on bottom shelf of oven. This helps the cake to be tender and moist. GLAZE: 1 c. powdered sugar 3 tbsp. melted butter 3 tbsp. lemon juice (approximately) |
