GOLDEN CHEESE-BROCCOLI CHOWDER 
2 c. water
1 c. chopped celery
1 c. chopped carrots
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 lb. fresh chopped broccoli

In large saucepan combine water, celery, carrots, and onions. Bring to boil and reduce heat. Simmer uncovered 5 minutes or until tender. Add broccoli and cook 4 to 5 minutes until tender. Do not drain.

CHEESE SAUCE:

1/2 c. butter
2 tsp. salt
4 c. milk
1 lb. Velveeta cheese, cubed or 4 c. grated Cheddar cheese
1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. white pepper
2 c. ham - 1/2 inch cubes

Melt butter in large saucepan, blend in flour, salt, and pepper. Cook stirring constantly for 1 minute. Stir in milk and cook until thick over medium heat. Stir in cheese and cook until melted, add ham cubes. Combine cheese sauce with undrained vegetables and serve.
