CHEESE CHOWDER 
3 c. boiling water
2 c. diced potatoes
1 c. diced carrots
1/2 c. diced celery
1 c. diced onion
Salt and pepper
Instant beef bouillon to taste

WHITE SAUCE:

1/4 c. butter
1/3 c. flour
2 c. milk
2 c. shredded cheese (sharp)

Add vegetables, salt, pepper and bouillon to boiling water. Simmer 30-45 minutes. Do not drain.

Meanwhile, make white sauce. Stir in cheese. Pour sauce into hot vegetables. Stir.

Add salmon, if you are using it. Serve with ham or bacon bits on top.
