MERINGUE DELIGHT | |
6 egg whites 1 tsp. cream of tartar 1 c. sugar 1 tsp. vinegar 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 pt. whipping cream Fresh strawberries Beat egg whites almost stiff and add cream of tartar. Beat again until very stiff. Fold in sugar. Stir in vinegar and vanilla. Place in a buttered pie tin and set in a pan of boiling water in a moderate oven. Bake 45 minutes. Remove from oven and place upside down on a large cake plate. When cold cover with whipped cream. Fresh strawberries or other fruit may be on top. |
