3 c. sugar 3/4 c. corn syrup 3/4 c. water 2 egg whites 1 (3 oz.) pkg. Jello (any fruit flavor) Mix sugar, corn syrup, and water. Bring to boil over low heat, stirring to dissolve sugar. Continue boiling until a little syrup forms a hard ball in cold water (or 252 degrees on candy thermometer), about 15 minutes. Beat egg whites until stiff. Add Jello slowly and beat until mixture stand in peaks. Pour syrup in thin stream over egg mixture. Beat until mixture holds shape and loses its gloss. About 10 minutes. Pour into well greased 9 inch pan or drop by teaspoonfuls onto wax paper. Makes 6 dozen. |
