1 cake mix (white or any flavor)
1/2 c. soft shortening
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream all ingredients except cake mix. Add vanilla and cake mix. Heat oven to 350°F. Roll into 1/2-inch balls and bake for 6 to 8 minutes.
