RED SOUR CHERRY ROLL 
1 c. sugar
Dash of salt
1 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. flour
2 c. juice from canned cherries plus water

DOUGH:

1 1/2 c. of flour
2 tbsp. vegetable shortening
2 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. milk
2 c. cherries

Make dough and roll oblong about 1/4 inch thick, put cherries on evenly and roll up like a jelly roll, cut into slices about 1 1/2 inches. Put in a deep baking dish and pour the thickened juice over slices.

Bake at 425 degrees for 30 minutes and serve hot with some of juice over roll.
