2 pkgs. dry yeast 3/4 c. warm water 3/4 c. shortening 2 c. buttermilk 5 or 6 c. self-rising flour Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add rest of ingredients. Pinch off amount needed, bake as biscuits or hoecakes. This recipe will keep in refrigerator for one week. Cook at 450 degrees until brown. |
