WALNUT CREAM CHEESE BROWNIES 
4 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate
3/4 c. butter, softened
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 c. all purpose flour
1 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Melt chocolate in top of a double boiler over hot water; set aside to cool. Cream butter; gradually add 2 cups sugar, beating well. Add 3 eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir melted chocolate into butter mixture. Add flour, walnuts and 1 teaspoon vanilla, stirring well. Pour batter into a greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan; set aside.

Beat cream cheese until smooth; gradually add 1/2 cup sugar, beating well. Add 1 egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla, beat well. Drop mixture by heaping tablespoons over chocolate mixture. Swirl cream cheese mixture into chocolate mixture with a knife. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Cool and cut into squares. Yield: 3 1/2 dozen.
