GREAT GREEN BEANS 
1 lb. fresh green beans
1/3 c. butter
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
1 c. blanched, slivered almonds
1 tsp. garlic, minced

Cut beans into 2 inch strips. Put in water and bring to a boil; drain. Melt half of butter. Add water, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Add beans, cover and cook for 15-20 minutes.

In another pan melt the rest of the butter. Add almonds and brown slowly. Add garlic. Put beans in serving dish and pour almond mixture over them.
