NOMI'S HI PROTEIN HEALTH BREAD | |
2 c. quick oats 2 c. raisins, optional 2 c. wheat flour 1 c. water 1 c. sour or buttermilk 2 c. millers bran (bulk food store) 2 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. cream of tartar 18 packets any sweetener Sour milk with 2 teaspoons vinegar; leave set. If using raisins, boil in the 1 cup water; cool. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all dry ingredients well. Add milk and water. Add raisins boiled in 1 cup water at this time if using. Otherwise, add 1 cup water. Bake in 2 large bread loaf pans, well greased, for 1 hour at 350 degrees or until bread will fall out of pans. Cut when fully cooled. If you wish, freeze individual slices; use as needed. Must at least store in refrigerator. |
