OATMEAL CRISPS 
1 c. melted shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 c. coconut
1 c. nuts
1 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
4 c. oatmeal (instant or 5 minutes)

Mix shortening and sugar. Add eggs, coconut, nuts, flour and vanilla, salt, soda, and oatmeal. Mix well. Shape into small balls and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
