VARIETY COOKIE DOUGH 
2/3 c. shortening
2/3 c. butter, softened
1 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs, well beaten
2 tsp. vanilla extract

Mix all ingredients on low speed until the beaters gather the dough together, about 2 minutes. Roll the dough 1/8 inch thick on a floured surface. Place on an ungreased baking sheet and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 375 degrees for 4 to 6 minutes or until lightly browned.
