SAUCE FOR STALE CAKE 
2 c. sweet milk
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. lemon or vanilla flavoring
Dash of nutmeg

Mix flour with sugar then add milk. Cook slowly until it boils, stirring constantly. This is very good over cake that is too dry to eat. Cut cake into slices; place on small plate and cover with sauce. Let set a few minutes so as to soak up the dry cake.
