HAMBURGER SOUP 
1 lb. ground chuck
1/2 c. onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1/2 c. carrots, thinly sliced
2 c. canned tomatoes
1 tbsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. barley
8 c. water
1 env. Lipton's Country Vegetable Soup Mix

Brown meat and onions. Put everything, except soup mix, in pan. Bring to a boil; simmer for 1 hour. Add soup mix, simmer another hour. Try adding a dash or two of Tabasco for a little more spice. A great soup for cool nights. Makes 4-6 servings.
