FLOUR TORTILLAS 
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 c. shortening
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. hot water

Place flour, shortening, baking powder and salt in a medium size bowl. Cut shortening in flour with a fork. Slowly add hot water in small portion, kneading mixture. Finally knead dough. Separate dough in small portions, forming little balls.

With rolling pin, roll out into round shapes. Cook on a large flat grill skillet. Flip tortilla when one side is brown and cook other side. Makes 8 to 10 tortillas.
