SPECIAL K BARS 
1/2 c. white syrup
1/2 c. white sugar
3/4 c. crunchy peanut butter
3 c. Special K or Rice Krispies
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chocolate chips
1 c. butterscotch chips

Butter a 9 x 9 inch pan. Measure syrup and sugar in heavy pan. Bring to a boil and boil 30 seconds. Remove from heat; add peanut butter and blend well. Add cereal and vanilla. Spread in greased pan and pat down with moistened hands.

Melt chocolate chips and butterscotch chips over hot water or microwave. Spread on top of mixture. Refrigerate 10 minutes. Remove. Cut in squares.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
