I am not a very good cook because I don't have the patience nor do I have the time thanks to a 6 yr old and a 7 month old... Lol, but have been dying for some tuna casserole. So I pretty much just skimmed through the instructions... And already messed it up pretty bad... I didn't cook the noodles first and I got cream of mushroom instead of cream of chicken... So after adding a half cup of water and a cup and a half more milk... I just hope and pray that at least the noodles wont still be hard when its all said and done. Lol

Instead of macaroni noodles used Ramen noodles (chicken) mixed in noodle seasoning for more flavor, half can of peas instead of cream of chicken used cream of chicken and mushroom! The rest I went by recipe. Yummy!!

We love this recipe, but I always use colby jack cheese. I've found that the mozzarella cheese really amplifies the fishy taste of the tuna fish, which isn't my cup of tea. Using the colby jack keeps the taste in line. I also take Lays potato chips, crush some and mix them into the casserole and also put some on top before I top it with cheese.

This is a great recipe, and it feels everyone up quick. You can either use cream of chicken, celery or mushroom or mix it up. Love this recipe and hubbie asked for me to make it again :)

Great - loved it. Cooked with chicken tenders and I had cooked in my crock pot. Replaced elbow noodles with rotini noodles. This is a keeper.

Do you drain the tuna? Do you cook covered? I grew up with potato chips in my tuna casserole, so that's what I added - yum!

Most recipes of this type call for covered cooking (w/foil) to ensure even heating and thorough cooking, then remove foil for the last 10-15 minutes to "brown" the topping.

Good recipe, however, I modified it somewhat. I substituted a can each of cream of mushroom and cream of celery for the cream of chicken, cheddar for the mozzarella and frozen instead of canned peas.

Loved this recipe. So easy to put together before work and cook. I substituted chicken for tuna and used the tri-color pasta (as I had this on hand). Great recipe.

What I did was just not add the peas and it tastes better.

For an even yummier taste (for those who like nuts) throw in some cashews or slicked toasted almonds. Really adds a lot of flavor and crunch if you like that sort of thing. Also used mild cheddar instead of the mozzarella. Ever so good. Thanks.

I love this recipe I came across it a while back when I was looking for dinner ideas, and everything I found I didn't have what it called for then I found this I had the cream of chicken soup! Made it exactly only left out the peas (i don't like peas) I used a different cheese only because that's what I had on hand and I use more tuna than what's called for but I'm feeding a family of 5 and we like ours "meaty", didn't add or remove anything else and it was perfect the way it was. Now I've made this both ways with cream of chicken and cream of mushroom my kids like it no matter which way I do it. I always try the recipe as written first and only substitute if I have to (like with the cheese I barely ever have mozzarella cheese) if its perfect the way it was written, I don't change a thing. I only tweak them when needed but you can't tweak something if you did not try it the "original" first- if you do your making a entirely different recipe and need to post your own it can't be a review if its not made exactly as the person wrote it out to start with ;)
