GRANDMA NORMA'S FRESH APPLE BARS 
2 1/2 c. flour
2 tbsp. sugar
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
Raw apple slices
1 c. shortening
1 egg
Milk
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Mix flour, sugar, salt, and shortening as for pie crust. Put egg in cup; fill 2/3 up with milk. Add to flour mixture. Roll out a little more than 1/2 of dough. Put in jelly roll pan. Spread with raw apple slices. Sprinkle with 1 cup sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Add top crust. Bake 1 hour at 325 degrees. Drizzle with 1 cup powdered sugar and warm water.
