GUMDROP COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. quick oats
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. coconut
1 c. gumdrops (chopped)

Cream shortening and sugars; add eggs. Beat well. Add vanilla. Sift together flour, salt, powder and soda; stir into mixture. Add oats, coconut and gumdrops; mix well. Roll into small balls. Press flat with a fork dipped in flour. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 10 minutes at 375 degrees.
