MELT IN MOUTH SUGAR COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar
1 c. butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond extract
2 1/2 c. white flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar

Mix sugar and butter. Mix in egg and flavorings. Measure flour and sift all together with soda and cream of tartar. Stir into butter mixture. Chill 2-3 hours.

Divide dough in half and roll out on lightly floured pastry cloth to 3/16 inch thickness. Cut with floured cookie cutter. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake 7-8 minutes at 375 degrees. 5 dozen 2-2 1/2 inch cookies.
