DOUBLE DECK BROWNIES 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. cake flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 sq. chocolate, melted
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. coconut

Cream sugar and shortening; add eggs, vanilla, flour and salt. Take half of batter and add chocolate and nuts. Spread in greased 8 x 8 inch pan. To the other half of batter, add coconut and spread over first layer. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Use 9 x 13 inch pan for double recipe. Frost when cool.

CHOCOLATE FROSTING:

1 c. brown sugar
3 tbsp. cream
5 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. chocolate chips

Combine sugar, cream and butter in a saucepan. Bring to a good rolling boil. Remove from heat and add chips. Stir until melted. Spread immediately on bars.
