FRESH STRAWBERRY GLACE' PIE
1 baked (8 or 9") pie shell
1 c. sugar
2 heaping tbsp. cornstarch
1 qt. fresh strawberries, cleaned and hulled
1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
Whipped topping (optional)

Put half of the cleaned strawberries (sliced, if large) in the pie shell. Crush the rest of berries in saucepan and bring to a boiling point. Combine sugar, salt and cornstarch; stir into boiling mixture. Stir constantly until fairly thick and clear. Pour over berries in pie shell and chill for at least 3 hours. May top with whipped cream or topping.

VARIATION: Whip 1 (3 ounce) package of soft cream cheese with 1 tablespoon milk and spread on bottom of pie shell before adding berries.
