GERMAN SLAW 
1 lg. head of cabbage (shredded)
7/8 c. sugar
1 lg. onion (sliced thin and in rings)

Mix together and let stand while making dressing.

DRESSING:

1 c. vinegar
1 tbsp. salt
1 tsp. dry mustard
3/4 c. salad oil
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. sugar

Bring dressing to a boil and pour over cabbage mixture. Put in bowl with tight lid on it. Store in refrigerator 24 hours. The longer it sets, the better it is.
